5-Day Worship Challenge #5!

It’s a new month, which means, it’s WORSHIP CHALLENGE TIME!! Here we go!

On each of your 5 days, pick one name or characteristic of God that you feel like you already experience and connect with closely, and then write out how that aspect of God has already impacted your life. Be specific. Then pray and ask God if there are other ways or other areas of your life that you need to be trusting Him for that aspect more. By the end of the week you should have five of these.

Also on each day, pick one name or characteristic of God that you don’t feel like you particularly connect with. It could be something that you think you need to be reminded of, understand better, or even something that you actually struggle to grasp or trust about God. Then pray and ask Him to show you how He might want you to trust or relate to that aspect of Him in your life. Again, write it out and be specific. By the end of the week, you should also have 5 of these.

Spend time each day thanking and worshiping God for each name/characteristic that you’ve chosen up to that point in the week. Write them down so you can see and meditate on them throughout your day. The goal is to grow in the knowledge of God and allow who He is to have a greater impact in our lives and our worship!

Don’t rush any of this. If you need to, spend time looking over the list of  Names, Titles, and Descriptions of God on this site, and ask Him to lead you to the specific ones He wants you to focus on each day. Some may already come to mind as you read this. Spend time meditating on the characteristics that you choose and worshiping God for these truths about who He is. To take it a step further, search where those names/characteristics of God are used in the Bible so you can allow His word to further fill and confirm these truths about God in your heart and mind.

“‘I love You, O LORD, my strength.’ The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. . . . The LORD lives, and blessed be my rock; And exalted be the God of my salvation (Psalm 18:1c-2, 46).

Question: What are some of the names or characteristics of God that you chose? How has this challenge impacted your week? I look forward to hearing from you!

Also, why not encourage your small group or Bible study to take this challenge with you! Share the impact of the challenge with one another.

Here’s the two names/aspects of God that I chose for my first day today: Jehovah Shammah (the Lord who is there) and then the Author of life. This was such a powerful exercise for me this morning, I may just keep doing it regularly after this. One of my desires behind doing the 5-Day Worship Challenge is to help people find ways that encourage their personal times of worship at home. And personally, I’m really connecting with this one as I write out how these aspects of God already impact my life and then how I need to trust Him in these ways more. How about you?

Loving this challenge! My 2nd day I chose to express my worship to God, You Who Hear Prayer, and His Spirit, the Voice of the Lord. How incredibly amazing is it that our God HEARS our prayers and SPEAKS to us? There are no words for the peace, hope, joy, and comfort (among other things) that this knowledge brings me. There are no words for how worthy my God is of my heart’s undivided devotion, attention, and affection.

Day 3: Worshiping God, my Hope and the True bread from heaven. Nothing fuels our worship like knowing who God is!

Day 4: Today I’m worshiping God my Father and Jehovah Jireh, the Lord will Provide. His name is powerful!

Day 5: Today I worshiped God my Rock and God the Spirit of counsel and power. Oh, how my perspective on my life circumstances changes when I remember and focus on Him!

By the way, you obviously don’t have to do these worship challenges on my schedule. Whenever the timing to start works best for you! Hopefully you’ll find one that really encourages you pursue a more intimate time of worship at home – beyond the 5 days!
